Mangroves are crucial in the Gulf🌱
This was the anchoring point of our CTO Cameron Dowd’s presentation at the first Saudi-Swiss CleanTech Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Shukran and thank you to the hosts who organized the event: the Embassy of Switzerland in Saudi Arabia together with Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA) and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) . The forum was full of potential – and green – synergies.
As the Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs Helene Budliger Artieda put it, “Transitioning to a greener world is a key priority for both the Kingdom and Switzerland, and our companies have been working hard in recent years.”
It was an honor to be invited as one of those industrious andinnovative companies, a Swiss cleantech startup!
Key takeaways from the talks:
✅ Saudi and the other countries in the region have ambitious goals – like planting 100 million mangroves by 2030 – and innovative solutions will be needed to meet them.
✅ Localization of operations and learning from local experts is key.
✅ There is no silver bullet and a diversity of approaches is needed!
